Zoom Out: The New Orleans Advantage

Donned “Hollywood South,” New Orleans is a thriving film and television production hub—the fourth largest in the United States and the sixth largest in North America.

And it’s no wonder. The city is beautiful and historic, with year-round warm weather and a diverse and distinctive selection of settings for on-location filming.

The crew base and talent pools are deep and highly skilled and continue to grow at exponential rates.

What’s more, incentives are generous. In fact, The Motion Picture Production Program is one of the country’s oldest and most successful film incentive programs. The program provides tax credits up to 40% on total qualified in-state production expenditures. That includes resident and non-resident labor. What’s more, there’s an additional 5% credit on qualifying VFX expenditures.
