Content Media has acquired the international rights to The Devil In The Deep Blue Sea. The Louisiana-shot romantic drama stars Jason Sudeikis, Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams, Jessica Biel, Orlando Jones, Paul Reiser (Whiplash) and the beautiful lioness and Step Brothers star, Mary Steenburgen.
The film wrapped a couple of months ago in Louisiana and is currently in post production. Devil In The Deep Blue Sea was directed by New Girl helmer Bill Purple from his own script that he wrote with Robbie Pickering. Jessica Biel produced the film under her Iron Ocean Films banner with the help of Michelle Purple. Mike Landry and Carlos Velazquez from C Plus Pictures and Chuck Pacheco from Nine Nights will also produce.
The most exciting news revolving around this film is the addition of Justin “The Prince of Pop” Timberlake. He and wife Biel will be working on this film together as JT has announced that he will score the film. This is really exciting news for Devil In The Deep Blue Sea. Timberlake is following Kanye’s lead by becoming musically involved with a big project.
The script reads with love, friendship, grief and laughter. From an interview with Screen Daily, “Jason and Jessica really tug at our heartstrings, making us laugh and cry and laugh again – and Maisie is just wonderful,” said Content’s film president Jamie Carmichael. Jessica Biel is a proud new mother. She is pregnant is several set photos showing that her character will most likely be sporting a belly bump on screen. Royal Teeth has signed with a major label, Elektra Records, which is owned by Warner Music Group. The decision to sign with a major label is big for any band. It signals a big vote of confidence in their commercial talent. Royal Teeth is an American indie group from Lafayette, New Orleans and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. They formed in 2010. Band-mates include sing/guitarist Gary Larsen, singer Nora Patterson, guitarist Thomas Onebane, bassist Josh Wells and drummer Josh Hefner.
In a statement released by the band, “We’re very excited to announce our signing to Elektra Records! We have been pouring our hearts into writing new music. We are growing and changing and lovin the process.” This up-and-coming indie band released their tour dates for the latter part of the year and make a pivotal stop at the Jazz & Heritage Festival this Friday April 24.
Their songs sound similar to indie pop music that has been licensed for hip Heineken and Apple commercials. Catchy, poppy and ultimately fun music to hear. They have whistles, percussion, sticks and shakers and their true strength is their ability to harmonize their vocals. Royal Teeth is a blithe cross between Passion Pit and MIKA. The group released their EP Act Naturally in 2012. Visit the band’s official website here. Watch their single “Wild” below:Read more
MTV unveiled their new Scream logo and then the initial teaser trailer during the MTV Movie Awards. Now we get the chance to see the nearly satirical trailer for MTV’s newest horror series Scream.
First of all, the narrator absolutely dominates the stereotypical horror trailer montage. The tone of this trailer screams comedy (pun totally intended). The way to write the storyline of a horror film most always begins in a small little town with omonous tones pattering in the background. The cast must include young attractive women who are always peering over their shoulders to see where that mysterious passing shadow is lurking.
“But what if it’s not a movie. What if instead of 90 minutes of guts and gore it’s ten hours,” says the narrator. The fact is, it won’t be 90 minutes, it’ll be an entire season of guts, gore and shocking murders that will keep us tuning in to see who’s life will be taken next.
Scream stars Bella Thorne, Willa Fitzgerald, Bex Taylor-Klaus, John Karna and Carlson Young. Wes Craven’s slasher dynasty will take on the screens in your living room opposed to the box office. Directed by Jamie Travis, Scream comes into your homes on Tuesday, June 30 at 10pm.
The official story description below:
After a cyber-bullying incident results in a brutal murder, the shocking violence stirs up memories of a killing spree from the past that has haunted some, intrigued others and maybe just inspired a new killer. A group of teens – with two old friends struggling to reconnect at its heart – become lovers, enemies, suspects, targets and victims of a killer who’s out for blood.

Josh Groban plays the Saenger Theater in New Orleans on Wednesday, October 21. Tickets go on sale on Thursday, April 23 at 10am here.
This isn’t your typical Groban. The platinum-selling recording artist’s newest album Stages will be released April 28. The new work showcases thirteen songs that are all from the realm of musical theater and film. Featured artists include Kelly Clarkson, Audra McDonald and Chris Botti.
The album commences with “Pure Imagination” from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Groban takes a page right out of Willy Wonka’s liquor-is-quicker song book, showing great admiration for Gene Wilder, “I am a huge fan of the original film. It was a part of my childhood,” Groban says. “Gene Wilder will always be number one for me with this song.”
Kelly Clarkson makes an appearance as she aides Josh Groban in a duet from The Phantom of the Opera, “All I Ask Of You.” The two stars modernized the 1986 famous song while still creating a nostalgic tone. My personal favorite is Groban’s rendition of Israel Kamakawiwo’ole’s “Over The Rainbow” from The Wizard of Oz. There is a slow, melodic, classical spin on “Over The Rainbow” that incorporates an entire orchestra, perfectly blended soft crescendos and unruffled vocals from Groban.
Sweeney Todd fans have no fear: Groban belts “Children Will Listen” as one of the most faithful renditions of the 1979 musical thriller. Johnny Depp had rocked the vocals and the classic mutton chopped sideburns in Tim Burton’s Sweeney Todd and now Josh Groban has turned this famous ditty into his own.
In a recent press release, Josh Groban says, “Nothing has inspired me more in my life than the energy that is shared in a theater when great songs and great art are on the stage.” The California native utilized the ultra talented Orchestra at Abbey Road. With every song comes a fruitful background of a full orchestra.
Produced by Humberto Gatica and Bernie Herms, Stages was recorded win Los Angeles and London’s Abbey Road. The album will be released from record label Reprise Records who has had Groban on board since he was in college. This album has been a long time coming for Josh Groban. He has had an infatuation with musical theater from early adolescence.
Josh Groban comes to New Orleans Wednesday, October 21 at the majestic Saenger Theater. Don’t miss out on a very special evening with Josh Groban and purchase your tickets here. Visit Josh Groban’s official website here. Below is the full track listings and the trailer for Josh’s new album Stages:
“Pure Imagination” (from Charlie and The Chocolate Factory)
“What I Did For Love” (from A Chorus Line)
“Bring Him Home” (from Les Misérables)
“Le Temps Des Cathédrales” (from Notre Dame de Paris)
“All I Ask Of You” (from The Phantom of the Opera) (feat. Kelly Clarkson)
“Try To Remember” (from The Fantasticks)
“Over the Rainbow” (from The Wizard of Oz)
“Children Will Listen” (from Sweeney Todd)
”Not While I’m Around“ (from Into the Woods)

“Old Devil Moon” (from Finian’s Rainbow) (feat. Chris Botti)
“Finishing the Hat” (from Sunday in the Park with George)
“If I Loved You” (from Carousel) (feat. Audra McDonald)
“Anthem” (from Chess)

Is it possible to O.D. on nostalgia? The world is likely to find out soon. Film studios and TV producers alike are cashing in on the hopes that viewers are giddy to revisit their favorite characters of yesteryear.
Girl Meets World could be considered “patient zero” in the recent epidemic of TV revivals. The show debuted in June of 2014 and follows the daughter of Boy Meets World couple Cory and Topanga. The show is thriving on the Disney channel and continues to enlist members of the Boy Meets World cast for guest appearances.
Shortly after Girl Meets World hit in the summer, a long awaited sequel brought the nostalgia craze to the big screen. Dumb and Dumber To premiered twenty years after the original, bringing back its duo of hapless heroes for another cross-country adventure. The move proved successful as audiences were keen to find out the fates of Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunn.
Here are some of the titles being brought back in an effort to cash in on this craze.
Zoolander 2: Derek Zoolander and Hansel will re-emerge after fifteen years to try and prove there is more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good-looking. Like Dumb and Dumber To, this sequel isn’t really necessary, but it will likely be an enjoyable watch and a cash cow for all those involved.
Evil Dead Series: The 80s film franchise recently got a throwback with a 2013 a remake. The latest version of The Evil Dead brought attention back to the original franchise, which had remained dormant since 1992. Ash, one of horrors favorite heroes, returns with Bruce Campbell reprising the role in a Starz series.
The X-Files: This beloved sci-fi series probably went on longer than it should have in its original run. After David Duchovny left the series, the show continued on without him and probably lost its chance to have a truly great send off. Here’s hoping the show’s comeback delivers and provides the show with a worthy ending.
Full House: John Stamos confirmed this 90s favorite will return. The show will center on a pregnant and recently widowed DJ Tanner as she tries to raise her family with the help of sister, Stephanie, and BFF, Kimmy. But audiences are probably more interested in the Olsen twins making an appearance – which is 99.9% never going to happen.
Coach: Of all the shows in all the 90s, this just seems like it came out of nowhere. Craig T. Nelson did just finish his run as the beloved patriarch of the Braverman family on Parenthood, so he may be able to pull in those fans as well as the Coach crowd.
Twin Peaks: When Showtime announced they were going to bring back Twin Peaks, fans rejoiced! This is probably the most warranted revival that has been announced. The story was abruptly ended after season two and the fates of Agent Dale Cooper and a number of Twin Peaks’ citizens were left up in the air. Unfortunately, it looks like the plans for a new show are unraveling. Creator and mastermind David Lynch has recently backed out of the project and the cast doesn’t seem keen on participating without him. To be continued….
The New Orleans-shot ABC drama follows the lives of the women who support their astronaut husbands during the 1960’s epic space race. ABC has just announced that the premiere will launch Thursday, June 18. The Astronaut Wives Club was shot at Quixote Studios in New Orleans.
The wives of these scientists turned rockstars include JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Yvonne Strahovski and Odette Annable. The ABC series will also star Desmond Harrington, Bret Harrison and Wilson Bethel. JoAnna Garcia Swisher will re-team with writers Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz as the three worked on Gossip Girl for a brief stint.
The out-of-this-world drama is penned by Gossip Girl creator Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz, as mentioned before. It’s based on the best-selling novel from Lily Koppel. Danish filmmaker Lon Sherfig will direct the series. Visit the show’s official website here.

The Baton Rouge-shot superhero flick shows us the true origins of the Four’s friendships and the birth of their powers. Tim Blake Nelson starts the trailer out by scolding Dr. Storm for spending millions of dollars without turning a profit or any valuable ideas. Dr. Storm, played by House of Cards star Reg E. Cathey, says that the future is bright with the addition of Reed Richards.
Miles Teller plays Reed Richards and I’m already a fan of his contagious nerd-isms. We see the Four’s relationships forming right before our eyes. We also find out that Kate Mara, Sue Storm, is the daughter of Dr. Storm and sister of Johnny Storm played by Michael B. Jordan. The Thing, played by Jamie Bell, will provide muscle and won’t let any of the other lab coats bully Richard Reed, it’s cool to see their polar opposite attitudes form an admirable relationship.
Reed Richards seems to form great relationships with each member of the Fantastic Four and he shows that he is a born leader. He is smart, courageous, loyal and wishes to get his friends back to normal. Fortunately, Johnny Storm wishes to use their powers to help people and save the world from Doom. Doctor Doom.
We finally get the much anticipated arrival of Doctor Doom. He looks evil, metallic, menacing and sports an incredible hoody. We traverse dimensions with the four (actually five, but it seems that the one dude will die on the journey) and we enter the world where inhabited by Doctor Doom.
A major plus for me as a viewer is the comedy and chemistry the cast has on screen together. Miles Teller seems to have the nerd comedy beats down to a science (pun intended!). He, along with Michael B. Jordan have a couple of sequences together that are sure to generate chuckles throughout the theater, the classic fist bump mishap for example. We also catch a budding kindergarten-like flirtatious love interest between Reed Richards and Sue Storm.
Aaron Williamson will play a Navy Seal in Fantastic Four. Read Aaron’s Health Scene column here. Check out some recent photos of Fantastic Four here. Fantastic Four flies into theaters August 7. Directed by Josh Trank, this re-imagining looks to be a thrill ride.

Holy Stegosaurus! Dinos are getting crazy on Isla Nublar. The raptor squad is in full effect. Chris Pratt talks dirty to Bryce Dallas Howard and his raptors are prepared to help save the day. Vincent D’Onofrio is incredibly doubtful, ladies are getting snatched up by soaring pterodactyls and a genetically mutated dinosaur. This trailer looks awesome, if a bit spoilery.
BD Wong also returns! He stars along with Irfan Kahn, Jake Johnson, Judy Green, Omar Sy, Nick Robinson and Ty Simpkins. BD Wong is seen explaining that the dinosaur was designed to be bigger than the T-Rex. We also see the aquatic dino exhibit that looks to be the coolest aquarium exhibit ever. This beast leaps from under water and snatches its prey as one of the park’s newest attractions. This underwater beast looks to be the reincarnation of the Titanoboa mixed with massive crocodile genes.
After all of the attractions are contained, nothing would ever go wrong in this park, right? Oh no, sir. You would be certainly wrong as we discover that the genetically mutated mega beast of a dinosaur has eaten its own sibling, has escaped containment and now has manually extracted her honing device from her own flesh.

Shot on location in Jackson, Mississippi, director Teddy Smith’s new film A Gift Horse is now available at Wal-Mart. The megalithic retailer has become an important distribution channel for independent films, especially after video rental and sales stores like Blockbuster began to close a few years ago.
A Gift Horse is a refreshing film about an inescapable bond between a girl and her horse. The girl’s life has hit a rough patch after her mother’s death. But she soon finds solace with an injured horse who’d been cast away from its previous owner. Kyla Kenedy stars as Amanda, the girl who spends her afternoons with the injured horse. Together the two nurse the horse back to health, enter a contest and developed a heartwarming bond that is infectious.
Candi Brooks, John Schneider and Gulfport-native Aiden Flowers also star. Sean Huze wrote the script and Earl Heard and John Zapalac are executive producers. The film is available on DVD at your local Walmart to purchase. Also, check out Scene’s exclusive photos of A Gift Horse.Read more
In front of a red and sold out Smoothie King Center, the Anthony Davis-led Pelicans achieved an incredible playoff berth against all odds. The New Orleans Pelicans punched their playoff party ticket on the final day of the NBA regular season with a 108-103 against the San Antonio Spurs. Pelicans will match-up against the No. 1 seeded Golden State Warriors in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
In the biggest game of the Pelicans’ young franchise they played with emotion, energy, togetherness and mental toughness. They had a 23 point led at one point during the game and held on to win by a mere five points. It was without a doubt the biggest win of Anthony Davis and Monty Williams’ career as Pelicans. “We went to AD down the stretch and he came through on both ends of the floor,” Monty Williams said. The two were emotional after the victory and Davis expressed his love for his head coach.
Tony Parker had an outstanding first half and scored a team high 23 points and Boris Diaw finished with 20 points. The loss for the Spurs dropped them to the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference playoff standings. If they would’ve won last night, they would’ve knocked the Pelicans out of playoff contention and secured the No. 2 seed.
Anthony Davis finished with 31 points and 13 rebounds. Tyreke Evans played well down the stretch scoring 19 points and dishing out 11 assists. A huge second half shooting performance helped Eric Gordon scoring 14 points. Also, big performance from the energetic Norris Cole both offensively and defensively. The flat-top Cleveland State alum scored a quick 10 points off the bench making his first 5-6 shots. He also did an outstanding job defending San Antonio’s backcourt.
And I’d like to thank Jrue Holiday for coming back and guarding, scoring and ultimately leading on the court. Jrue did a phenomenal job shutting down Tony Parker in the second half limiting him to tough driving lanes and forcing him to pick up his dribble.
I’ll close with the greatest quote I’ve ever heard from future Hall of Famer Tim Duncan, who added 15 points and 10 rebounds, reprinted here from an ESPN interview:
“We’re happy for him, very happy for him,” Tim Duncan said about Monty Williams. “He’s worked his butt off over these past couple years. Obviously, I wanted to win and that didn’t change anything, but I guess I get some solace in the fact that he made the playoffs.”
Actually I’ll close with this:Read more
On April Fool’s Day we received a teaser for New Orleans-shot Into The Badlands. Thankfully the teaser release wasn’t an April Fools hoax. The AMC genre-bending kung fu-drama series stars Daniel Wu. The martial arts drama has also named three more actors including Aramis Knight (Ender’s Game), Madeleine Mantock (The Tomorrow People) and Ally Ionnides (Parenthood).
Aramis Knight will play a young up-and-coming actor who will play the lead opposing Daniel Wu. Knight has had stints on Dark Knight Rises, The Mentalists and Royal Pains. Starring alongside the newly named trio is Emily Beecham, Sarah Bolger, Oliver Stark and Orla Brady.
Into The Badlands is set to premiere this fall with a six-episode freshman season that is loosely based on the Chinese tale Journey To The West. The Badlands are controlled by feudal barons, a great warrior leads a boy across a dangerous land to find awakening. Daniel Wu plays the imposing warrior while Aramis Knight will play the unworldly young boy, M.K., nipping at Wu’s heals throughout the entire journey. With the aid of Sunny, M.K. will become a magician of the martial arts.
Madeleine Mantock will play Veil, a romantic interest with Sunny. She is also a doctor who makes prosthetic limbs for assassins who have lost them on the battlefield. Ally Ioannides will play Tilda, who is trained to kill and becomes a companion to M.K.
Directed by David Dobkin, Into the Badlands starts shooting April 27 in New Orleans. AMC’s newest show will premiere this Fall.

Spurs are favored by five points tonight at the Smoothie King Center. They are also fighting for the two seed in the Western Conference. They are also the reigning champs of the basketball world. They have also won 11 games in a row.
But they aren’t fighting for their lives and aren’t one win away from making the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. The complexity of the Western Conference Playoff standings is so difficult that I had to run to Reddit to gather all the scenarios. Simplified, Pels advance with a victory against the Spurs, which is possible, or an OKC loss to the Timberwolves, which is incredibly unlikely.
The Pelicans won Monday night in Minnesota 100-88. Anthony Davis went for 24 points, 11 rebounds and six blocks in the victory. With that win the Pelicans were one step closer to paradise, yet the Thunder managed to beat Portland causing the fate of the playoff dream to come down to one final game.
With a win, the Spurs will finish as the No. 2 seed. With a loss, the Spurs could drop as far as the No. 6 seed. This isn’t necessarily a “must-win” scenario for the Spurs, but this game definitely garners significant weight.
The New Orleans Pelicans have won two out of three meetings with the Spurs this year and the lone loss was when Omer Asik inadvertently tipped in the winning basket in his own basket. In these three meetings, Anthony Davis has averaged 23 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks per game.
This could very well be a “make-or-break” game for perennial hot seat head coach Monty Williams. In an interview with ESPN, Williams said, “We get to play the champs on our home floor, our crowd should be crazy and our guys should have a good time with it.”
Keys to the Game:
Out rebound and out hustle the Spurs. Pelicans front court of Davis and Asik need to grab both offensive and defensive boards and limit the Spurs to one and done possessions in order to win this game. Limit Duncan’s touches and keep San Antonio big men off of the offensive glass.
Keep Tony Parker out of the lane. Tony Parker will get the likes of Quincy Pondexter, Tyreke Evans, Norris Cole and hopefully Jrue Holiday tonight. Monty Williams does a good job of rotating able defenders to neutralize opposing stars. Pels must create physical match-ups with Tony Parker and keep him from getting our bigs in foul trouble or slicing through the lane for easy layups.
Ryan Anderson needs to hit shots early. The Flamethrower has been in somewhat of a shooting slump since his return. He has all the right offensive moves and footwork but needs to cash in with big buckets early to gain confidence. Also, Ryno, if you’re reading this, take a step closer and toe the three point line. There has been way too many opportunities wasted when a wide open three pointer comes up short simply because it is shot from four feet beyond the arc.
The crowd must be in every possession and supporting the Pelicans for the entirety of the game. Don’t get too low, don’t get too high. Know that the Spurs are one of the best teams in basketball. The crowd must have a playoff like atmosphere and will hopefully be close to full capacity.
Come support the Pelicans for their final game of the regular season. They will take on the San Antonio Spurs at 7pm.
“Home is where you make it.” David Spade made his home in the Big Easy while filming the guaranteed critically success Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser. I am both skeptical and insanely pumped to see sequel to the 2001 cult classic Joe Dirt. The entire cast is returning including the audibly unique Christopher Walken, beautiful Brittany Daniel, classically funny Dennis Miller, Adam Beach and one of the greatest vocalists of the 90s Sugar Ray’s Mark McGrath. Let’s all just pray to God that Kid Rock will return as the ass-kicking redneck Randy.
In Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser, Joe gets sent back in time and is forced to reconnect with his loved ones who reside in the present. This is already a confusing concept but with the mullet-sporting renaissance man at the helm, I’m sure everything will be ok. David Spade was recently interviewed by EW saying,
“Besides Tommy Boy, this is the most talked-about movie for me. After 10 years of people still asking about a sequel, we finally found a good way to do it. Joe is a fun character to play. I’m stoked for everyone to see it.”
Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison is producing the film. Joe Dirt helmer Fred Wolf returns to direct the sequel from he and Spade’s script. Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser will premiere on the streaming service Crackle this summer.

About a week ago we received news of Kanye West becoming the musical executive producer for the new Baton Rouge-shot TV series Underground. The newest member of the Underground family is Amirah Vann. New York, NY – April 14, 2015 – NBC, Donald J. Trump and Paula M. After the success of last year’s telecast, the MISS USA pageant returns to air LIVE from The Baton Rouge River Center Sunday, July 12 (8-11 p.m. ET) on NBC.
“The 2014 MISS USA® Pageant delivered an unprecedented amount of national and international exposure for Baton Rouge, taking its reputation for tourism and business opportunities beyond the local level,” says Trump. “This year’s pageant will be no different. Continuing our partnership guarantees another sold-out show that will provide Louisiana’s capital with another three hours of primetime television coverage,” adds Trump.
“There is always a genuine feeling of true hospitality when visiting Baton Rouge,” says Shugart. “We have created an incredible partnership with the city, and are honored to have the responsibility of sharing what their community has to offer through our worldwide telecasts,” adds Shugart. “Baton Rouge was recently named one of the Top 10 Happiest Cities in America by the National Bureau of Economic Research, which is no surprise to us. We truly cannot wait to go back.”
The Miss Universe Organization will return to the “Capital City” to produce the 2015 MISS USA® Pageant after the tremendous results from last summer. The 2014 MISS USA® broadcast and its events leading up to the show placed Baton Rouge on a world stage, bringing the city unparalleled exposure which vastly increased web traffic and created countless mentions in news and social media. The telecast shared the best of Louisiana’s vibrant culture and featured its lively music scene, unique food and proud people. On the night of last year’s pageant, hotels showed their largest surge in revenue, with an increase of 25 percent from the same day in 2013. Furthermore, it was reported by local news to be a “tourism victory.”
“Last year’s pageant was great exposure for Louisiana. We showed off Louisiana’s unique culture, abundant leisure opportunities and delicious seafood,” Lt. Mayor-President Melvin L. “Kip” Holden said, “There are so many things about the return of MISS USA to Baton Rouge that are unprecedented, but one of the most memorable from last year which we will again see was the fantastic exposure it gave Baton Rouge and Louisiana as a great tourism destination. There was a national social media buzz about this event all week as the contestants made local appearances. I’m going to predict this year will be even better now that everyone has seen how much entertainment MISS USA brings to Baton Rouge.”
“We are elated that the pageant is returning to Baton Rouge. Visitors, contestants and the nation alike saw the uniqueness of Baton Rouge’s attractions, food and culture last year,” said Paul Arrigo, president and CEO of Visit Baton Rouge. “With so much more to see and do in Baton Rouge, we cannot wait to showcase everything else our great city has to offer.”
L’Auberge Baton Rouge Casino & Hotel will host the Miss USA contestants leading up to the pageant. “We are very excited to once again be the host hotel for the MISS USA event,” says Mickey Parenton, Senior Vice President and General Manager, L’Auberge Baton Rouge Casino & Hotel. Ryan Murphy has taken to his Twitter feed again, this time announcing that Sarah Paulson is checking in to Hotel and she’ll be the baddest bad girl of them all. We received news of Lady Gaga, Chloë Sevigny, Matt Bomer and Cathy Bates joining the cast and now Sarah Paulson will return the the set of American Horror Story for season five.
Paulson’s commitment to Ryan Murphy and his team at AHS will be her fifth stint with the anthology series. According to Murphy, Paulson will be playing a villain in the upcoming horror series. Currently, Paulson is working on Murphy’s other FX anthology series American Crime Story. The baddest bad girl of them all will begin American Horror Story: Hotel following her role on American Crime Story as Marcia Clark.
A couple seasons ago, Paulson earned an Emmy nomination for her lead role in New Orleans-shot Coven. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Paulson said,
“I have never felt so completely seen by another director or producer or person before in terms of his willingness time and time again to give me something to do that I didn’t even think I was capable of doing. I don’t know why in the world I’d want to go elsewhere when I’m getting the best deal in town.”
AHS: Hotel will begin production during the summer and will premiere in perfect time for trick or treating in October. Visit the FX show’s official website here.

The writing of Step Brothers penman Adam McKay shines bright in the most recent trailer for Marvel’s Ant-Man. Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly and even the probably villainous Corey Stoll show their comedic sides as the newest Marvel movie looks to be perfect summer fun.
The first trailer for Ant-Man had some impressive visuals but seemed to still be searching for its tone. Marvel’s Kevin Feige has done a wonderful job of producing a slate of film and tv shows that feel tonally similar, while allowing the project to also reflect each superhero’s personality. It seems like the pieces of Ant-Man are finally coming into harmony with the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Ant-Man was shot on location in Georgia at Pinewood Atlanta Studios. Some exteriors were shot in San Francisco.
The film also stars Judy Greer, Hayley Atwell, John Slattery, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Pena, TI, David Dastmalchian and Martin Donovan. It’s directed by Peyton Reed, who famously took over for Edgar Wright just before production began.
Ant-Man opens wide on July 17.Read more
MTV unveiled their new Scream logo. Scream is a Baton Rouge-shot television series that will be filled with murders, comedy, horror and teenage angst. During Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards, the first full trailer of Scream will be released.
The show will star Bella Thorne (The Duff), Willa Fitzgerald (Royal Pains), Bex Taylor-Klaus (Arrow), John Karna (Premature) and Carlson Young (Key and Peele). Willa Fitzgerald’s character is the popular teenager Emma Duvall. Bex Taylor-Klaus will play a preacher’s daughter Aubrey Jensen. John Karna will play Noah Foster, the logistical student. The beautiful Carlson Young will play the adorable mastermind Brooke Maddox.
John Karna and Carlson Young will re-team as the two starred together in Premature. Carlson Young also played the infamous J-Quellan on the Key and Peele skit “Substitute Teacher.” I wonder if she’ll be on the call sheet when they make that into a feature film? But with her comedic background, MTV’s Scream has great potential to provoke some laughs. Watch the Key and Peele skit below:
